On August 4th, 2022, I posted a blog about Steve Addison’s book A Gentleman is Not Always an Officer, which I edited. Recently I requested a referral letter from him (yes, years later) and am overwhelmed by his kind and encouraging words.

LETTER OF REFERRAL – AILEEN FRIEDMAN
By way of this letter, I would like to introduce and refer Aileen Friedman, as my most trusted and valued editor.
In 2022, I set about writing a book about my experiences in the military, some 40 years previously. Overcoming the challenges of memory recall and writing about a few uncomfortable experiences, I finally had a book of sorts.
I was too close to the subject and needed a second pair of eyes to edit the book, create a natural flow and make the book readable and engaging to a larger audience.
I was advised to contact Aileen Friedman to assist me. This I did, and Aileen patiently and diligently went through my book, made numerous spelling and grammatical corrections and smoothed out the rough edges, to turn essentially a manuscript into a finished marketable book. Aileen made a point of getting to know a bit more about me, so that she could translate this to the character of the book.
Aileen, completed the task on time and on budget, but more importantly she allowed my personality to come to the fore in the book and not to change my style or thoughts.
I am delighted and proud to say that my book was published in July 2022. The book is entitled “A Gentleman is not Always An Officer” and is available on Amazon. All this would not have been possible if Aileen had not been my superb editor.
