On Saturday, 25 March 2017 at 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm Cozumel Island held their tribute to Earth Hour.
All the lights in the Quintana Roo Park were switched off; this did not deter the kiddies from riding on their battery operated cars and other entertainment, it only added to the fun.
In a previous blog, I wrote about the Cha’an Ka’an Planetarium and how highly I admire the work they are doing. Well, they pushed that bar up just a little higher during Earth Hour.
The Cha’an Ka’an Staff brought along with their expertise the telescopes and while the evening sky was so much brighter with the lights off they allowed people to view the wondrous skies. No charge at all, if you were there, you could view the skies. They even provided a stepping block for the little ones to reach the telescope.
What a magnificent token of generosity by Cha’an Ka’an Planetarium and all the staff that gave up of their time to make this possible.
I am convinced that this is the friendliest and most welcoming Planetarium on earth.
Thank you Cozumel for observing the Earth Hour.
