Carnival Dream

It certainly has been a long time since my last ship visit – October 2016 in fact.

This time I was a guest for a day on Carnival Dream and this time it was my first ship visit without Ali (overcoming another first without my beloved).

Carnival Dream was the first of three ships built in this size for Carnival Cruises. After Carnival Dream came Carnival Magic and then Carnival Breeze.

The specs for Carnival Dream are;

130,000 tons, 1004 ft in length, 3646 guest capacity, 1367 Crew onboard.

I was very fortunate that on the day of my visit they were serving lamb at the carvery, I ate myself into oblivion it was so good and delicious. In Mexico lamb is a rarity and when it is available, you have to pig out.

The food is always good on the Carnival Cruises, and that includes the desserts that I can also never get enough of.  Guy Fieri’s burgers (Ali’s favorite) are available too and is always very popular to eat by the side of the pool.

The decor I did not understand, but it does give a relaxing feel. The ship’s layout is similar to most other Carnival ships with play centers for children, a water park on the top of the ship, gym, track for running or walking, nightclub, entertainment lounges, a theater, two formal restaurants over and above all the various international restaurants on Lido deck (deck 10).

Of course, there is a casino, spa, various retail shops and don’t forget the photography studio. Carnival Dream’s library is, in my opinion, better stocked than the others I have visited.

Overall I had a delightful visit on Carnival Dream.

  1. Those firsts are always hard.

    But so glad you enjoyed the ship – it is beautiful! How fortunate you are to occasionally get to pass the day that way. How blessed we are to live in places where we can live a vacation!
