My Saving Grace

My Husband Ali’s death has left too many hours of loneliness that leads to such immense and deep sadness in my heart. It’s in the late hours of the evening and the early hours of the mornings when sleep evades me like a plague that I ponder the why’s and the what if’s. The images of that fatal evening haunt me. “And this too shall pass” This is God’s promise. This shall pass, God has promised me this. God is my saving grace, and it is on His promise, His strength and His love that I hold onto.

God has given me a beautiful, vibrant, funny, crazy, adorable granddaughter Maya, that fills my hours with such distraction. I am so grateful for this gift of love.

For whatever reason God took Ali from this earth, I accept this and rejoice that He has blessed me with not only Maya but Senna, Shyre, Saven, Annelie, and Liam too. God’s gift to parents is their grandchildren.

Nadine, Mik ‘n Drik Photography, took these photos at coconut beach on Saturday, October 14, 2017.  They are so incredibly superb and captured every ounce of love and the smile that Maya brings out in me. She radiates joy, and it is highly contagious.
